Welcome to The Cause, a role-playing game of deception, sabotage, and espionage set in a universe of never-ending attacks from all manner of threats. Humanities enemies include the undead, super villians, mad scientists, aliens, and creatures from other planes of existence. This game thrusts players into the roles of Agents of The Cause or Operatives of The Effect, and their ever-escalating schemes of treachery and betrayal. This game emphasizes intrigue, quick-thinking, and over-the-top antics—all while maintaining the deadly seriousness of two factions of a world organizations locked in eternal conflict for the fate of humanity. The game is part comedy, part drama, but all fun.
Players will plot, betray, and outmaneuver their rivals using hidden gadgets, elaborate traps, and sheer audacity in an attempt to convert or destroy their opposition all while working together to stop the greater threats to humanity. Every move is a gamble, every alliance a potential double-cross. Will you be the cunning mastermind who outwits their foes, or the hapless victim of your own backfiring contraption? The choice—and the explosive consequences—are yours.

Agents operate in groups, called Teams, of 10 agents. Each team will develop their own unique set of team benefits and powers that each team member can utilize in times of need. Players can either form their own teams or one of our premade teams. But either way, you can always trust your team. that's if none of them have been converted. Which they probably have.
